Car Scanner Setup Guide

This setup guide offers clear, step-by-step instructions for iOS users on how to properly install, configure, and connect the Car Scanner ELM OBD2 app with the VEEPEAK OBDCheck BLE device. It is especially designed for first-time users to ensure a smooth and successful connection.

Step 1: Download the App

Search for Car Scanner ELM OBD2 in the App Store and download it. Do not launch the app at this step.

Step 2: Plug in the Device

Locate the OBD2 port (usually under the steering wheel on the driver’s side). Plug in the OBDCheck BLE and turn on the car ignition.

Step 3: Check Bluetooth Settings

Go to iOS system Bluetooth Settings and confirm that “VEEPEAK” appears. DO NOT pair here.

Note: The device uses Bluetooth LE on iOS. Connect directly in the app as instructed later.

Tip 1: If you accidentally tap “VEEPEAK,” it may cause an error and disappear. Restart your iOS device, and it will reappear.

Tip 2: On some earlier batches, entering a PIN in iOS Bluetooth may show “not connected” after pairing. Ignore this status and continue with the app. (This issue has been fixed in recent batches.)

Step 4: Launch the App and Set Preferences

Open Car Scanner. Grant permission for WLAN & Cellular data. Select the display language (choose Auto to follow system language).

Step 5: Select Car Brand

Choose your vehicle’s brand from the list.

Step 6: Choose Connection Profile

Select the correct connection profile. Using a specific profile may provide more readings. If your vehicle is not listed, choose the generic “OBD-II/EOBD.”

Step 7: Go to Connect Page

After initial setup, the app will return to the main screen. Tap CONNECT at the bottom to open the connection settings page.

Step 8: Select Connection Type

Under Connection Type, choose Bluetooth LE (4.0+). Then tap "Not Selected" under Device to open the device selection page.

Step 9: Allow Bluetooth Access

When prompted, allow the app to find Bluetooth devices.

Step 10: Select Device

From the device list, choose "VEEPEAK".

Step 11: Confirm Settings

The app will display your selected connection type, device name, car brand, and profile. Tap Next to start the connection.

Step 12: Start Using the App

Once both ELM and ECU show as Connected, you can begin using the app.

If you want to reconfigure later, go to Settings from the main page:

Under Adapter OBDII ELM327, reselect connection type and device.

Under Connection Profile, reselect car brand and profile.
